From a rocket base to a festival
Hip Hop Kemp has found a new home in a place with a story of its own. The original Hadačka site near Plzeň served during the Cold War as a military rocket base. A place that was closed to the public for decades and shrouded in mystery is now taking on a completely new meaning.
From a space that was once a symbol of a divided world, an open zone is emerging for music, culture and bringing together people from dozens of countries. The preserved atmosphere of the former military site gives Hip Hop Kemp a unique character you’ll hardly find at any other festival in Europe.
Today Hadačka is gradually being transformed into Areál COSMO. New festival facilities are taking shape here, connecting the industrial history of the place with a modern approach to cultural events. Every edition will be part of another chapter in the story of a location that is turning from a former military base into a living hub of music, creativity and freedom.
